To protect and advocate for the rights of children to help them meet their basic needs and expand opportunities for them to reach their maximum potential and capabilities. The agreement contains 54 articles and two optional protocols.  It clarifies in an unambiguous way the basic human rights that children should enjoy anywhere and without discrimination.  These rights are: the child's right to survival, development and development to the maximum extent, protection from harmful influences, abuse and exploitation , And full participation in the family, and in cultural and social life.

The four basic principles of the Convention are: non-discrimination ; concerted efforts for the best interests of the child; the right to life, the right to survival, the right to development; and the right to respect.
