Cairo Tower (sometimes called "Aljazira Tower") is a tower located in the Egyptian capital of Cairo, built between 1956 and 1961 of reinforced concrete on the design of Egyptian lotus flower, designed by engineer Naoum Shabib, located in the heart of Cairo on the island of Zamalek Nile River It reaches 187 meters high and is 43 meters higher than the Great Pyramid in Giza. At the top of the Cairo Tower there is a tourist restaurant on a rotating platform that leads the restaurant to see the features of Cairo from all sides.
One of Cairo's most famous landmarks is the 16-storey Cairo Tower. It stands on a base of Aswan granite stones previously used by Egyptians in the construction of their temples and tombs.
