Al-Seif Palace is the palace of government in Kuwait  built in 1904 under the reign of Sheikh Mubarak Al -Kabir The palace was developed during the reign of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah in 1961. The building of the Seif Palace took the Islamic architectural character due to the use of Islamic arches and decorations, as well as touches of the ancient Kuwaiti heritage  It was used in the construction of simple primary materials of clay, stone, wood and metal. The Palace is now the official residence of the Emir  the Crown Prince and the Council of Ministers  and the name of the palace is referred to as the sword in relation to its proximity to the sea or sword
