In 1938 AD King Farouk decided to unify the shape of all coins exchanged in the Egyptian Kingdom . He gave orders to melt all issued old coins of Sultan Hussein Kamel Sultan /fuad and King Fuad I in the possession of the treasury and re-mint them at the Royal Mint in London in 1939 with the following denominations

25000 coins of twenty piastres each with a total value of 5000 pounds

2850000 coins of ten piastres each with a total value of 285000 pounds

8 million coins of five piastres each with a total value of 400000 pounds

500000 coins of two piastres each with a total value of  10000 pounds
