The brunei dollar is the currency of the Sultanate of Brunei since 1967. Abbreviation: bnd is usually abbreviated by the dollar sign, $ B, or instead, to distinguish between other countries' dollars.  Brunei Dollar is divided into 100 cents. 

Coin in Brunei In the early history, the shells of a cowry insect were also Brunei famous for throwing bronze tea that is used as a barter currency in the North Borneo coast. 

In 1967 the categories of coins were as follows: 1,5,10,20,50 cents. Except for the bronze cent, the coins were copper-nickel. In 1986 the bronze coin was replaced by copper-coiled steel.
